API-first
If the app can do it, so can the API.
The CIS Manager app is built on this same API, so you can be confident it is robust and reliable. There is nothing you can do in the app that you can't do through the API.
# List a tenant's contacts GET /tenants/{tenant}/contacts x-api-key: your-api-key
How it works
Getting started.
Authenticate
Send your API key in the x-api-key header with every request. Create a key yourself in the app, under API Keys in your account.
Pick a tenant
Resources belong to an organisation, the tenant. Its code is the {tenant} in every path, as in /tenants/{tenant}/contacts.
Use the reference
Every operation and schema is documented, and the OpenAPI spec drops straight into your tooling to generate a client.
What's covered
The whole of CIS.
The app uses this API for everything it does, so the API covers everything the app does, just like our practice management API.
Webhooks
Hear about it when it happens.
Rather than polling, have CIS Manager post an event to your system when a subcontractor is verified, an invoice changes or HMRC accepts a return. Add a webhook under Settings in the app and choose its events. Each delivery is signed with the webhook's secret in the X-Webhook-Signature header, so you can check it came from us.
